I have a brand new Mustang in Southern California that I’m planning on coating with UK. I was thinking of having three coats applied for one to last long and durability.

Does this sound like a great plan? Or should I and another coat to it? Or use other products as well with the UK I would love to hear what you guys think.

I heard wearing the coding helps and a lot of depth in durability?

Thanks for any help with this

I wouldn’t do anymore than two coats. You can always top the UK with Reload.

I did 2 layers of CQUK on my wife's Jetta and I got well over years of durability. I actually got more like 3+ but I started using Hydro2 and ReLoad regularly now so I can't say for sure over the the 3 year mark.

I think you could do the 2 layers to get even coverage and then look at adding CQ original as the Ti02 brings a little more bling and water spot resistance or you could use the new Gliss top coat.

Welcome to the forum. Nice to see another So Cal member.

Two coats of either UK or TiO2 is fine. Or one coat of each if using together.

I just finished re-polishing and re-coating my uncles corvette this weekend with one coat of UK topped with one coat of TiO2. I have been playing around with this combo on my personal car and have been impressed with it.

Per Corey, UK cures harder faster and supplies the strongest base and TiO2 provides a more stain resistant top coat. I will be posting up photos within in the next few days and a full write up. Polished with Essence as well.

Troy,

Have used Gliss yet?

Thanks Guys

Maybe 2 Coats of UK and 1 top coat of Ti02? Should that give great long term durability and a High Gloss Color POP?

It’s going on a new Grabber Blue Mustang GT.

What is this New Gliss?

Not yet. And since fall is here in Ohio and temps are in the 30s-40s my guess is I won't get to till the spring.

But my experience with CQ and CQUK has been so good I am sure Gliss will be a hit.
We have been getting wintry precipitation here in N.J.

Thanks Guys

1 coat of UK and 1 coat of TiO2 is all you need. No need to do additional coats of either one if you are planning to use both. If you want to add a little more SiO2 then consider polishing with Essence.

Gliss won't be out for another week or so but it is a coating topper for either coating.

Here's an idea of the gloss I achieved after polishing with Essence and applying one coat of UK and topped with one coat of TiO2.

Thanks for all he great help.

For prep would you use

CarPro Essence followed by CarPro Reflect High gloss finishing polish then coating?

If you have to use both then reflect followed by essence. Reflect will remove the SiO2 left behind by essence.

You would want to finish with essence on a CarPro Gloss pad or a finishing pad if you were able to get the defects out with reflect and say a polishing pad.

Try a test spot with both on a polishing pad and see which gives you the correction and look you want.

If you need any help and you are close by then you can PM me.
