So I bought the 50ml kit a week or so ago and Corey had mentioned that there was a new formulation for this. How can I tell if I have the new/old formula and if it is old, can I exchange it for the new formula?

If you purchased it here within the last year, it is the new formula!
Remember the new formula flashes quicker than the old formula....
Typically the wait time before removing the new formula is between 2-7 minutes depending on temperature, humidity, and paint. Generally in warmer temps 2-3 min is good, with a longer wait time at cooler temps.. If you try to wipe it to soon it will be oily and have no grab to it when wiping. Too late and it becomes hard to remove. You want to remove it when you feel it giving just a little push back against your towel but not hard to remove and no longer oily. If left too long it will become difficult to remove. If removed too early then it won’t have a chance to bond.
A second coat may be applied with 45 minutes.

2-3 minutes is a lot different that 2-7 minutes. That seems like a tight timeline window for timing and the temps are a little vague. Are there any visible indicators like flashing that will also give an indicator as to when it is closer to be ready to remove?

Yes, most of the coating will have flashed and look as if it has melted into the paint. Do one panel at a time; if you try to wipe it to soon, it will feel oily and be obvious it's not ready. If you wait too long, it will become harder to remove, and will also be obvious. You want to remove it when you feel it giving just a little push back against your towel but not hard to remove (kind of like it feels when removing a quality wax or sealant) and no longer oily. Wipe times are approximate and vary a little bit due to the many variables beyond our control, such as different paint types, temperatures, and humidity. The warmer it is during application the quicker it flashes. After the first panel you should have a good feel for it.
