I love the effects of hydro2 on my cars clear coat. I was wondering if this would work good on my boats Gelcoat? And would it withstand the abuse of saltwater?

Nothing withstands salt water long term. Just buff the gel coat once yearly. Seems common in S. Fla.

I keep it in the water, it's a 37 foot cabin cruiser

Pull it out every year and take a rotary to it. Easiest way to go.

Going rate is around $15 per lineal foot if the with boat is out of the water around the Delray Beach, FL area. If it's like a chalkboard then $20/ft or even more. We've found the annual cleanings and details have the best looking gelcoats that shine great.

I recently detailed my dads 32 ft open fisherman and my 20 ft open fisherman in the key. My dads was not too bad. I used my random polisher, microfiber pad, and essence, followed by a reload wipe down. Looked great. Mine was getting chalky. I used my rotary with M101, 3M waffle cutting pad, then polish with essence, and reload wipedown. The next morning I wanted to experiment with Hydro2. So I rinsed it down, and sprayed it on, and rinsed it off. Worked great. If your gel clout is in good shape, give Hydro2 a shot after a thorough wash. I was very happy with my results.

I do get the yearly detail completed. Throughout the year I use star brite deck cleaner. I figured it would be better if I could just foam cannon half the boat, scrub with the deck brush, rinse and repeat for the second half. I plan on using hydrofoam once a month. The only problem is I would have to haul my pressure washer to Clearwater beach Marina to use my foam cannon.

I would just wash and use Hydro2. Much less Haslett and little more protection in my opinion

Both Hydrofoam and hydro02 work well on gelcoat. You need a smooth clean surface though if you want any adherence if the products. Use them both as a topper/sealer after polishing boats. Hydro02 makes a good sealer on non skid decks but again if the surface is old and degraded, not much help.

Galveston bay is a notoriously "dirty" bay. Green algae bloom 8 months out of the year and immense amount of suspended sediment. Hard to keep a boat clean of scum line. Both will give you some short term protection in that environment. Re apply regularly as you would any wax/sealer. It's too easy not to. ;)
