I've fallen in love all over again - Victoria Concours Red Wax

Merlin

I love shiny things
LSP's Waxes, sealants, and coatings.
With all the buzz around coatings, the original old school waxes seem to have lost their appeal...until now!

I recently discovered Victoria Concours Red Wax easy on/fairly easy off (even on the stubborn side it is still pretty forgiving)

Features:

  • Appearance Characteristics: Wet, Rich, Deep Nuba Finish
  • Beauty of a 200+$ wax for a fraction of the cost!
  • Incredible Concours winning appearance
  • Applies and removes with ease
  • Streak Free
  • Durability: Good
Specifications:

  • Color: Red
  • Scent: Candy
  • Wax Type: Hard
  • Applications: 60+
  • High volume of Premium Carnauba
  • Small amount of natural oils
  • Low VOC Solvents
Application:

  1. Wash the vehicle to remove all dirt and dry vehicle using a high-speed blower or our Microfiber Madness DMC.
  2. For best results prep paint with Victoria Lite Cleanse.
  3. Spread a thin layer across an area and buff off within 1 to 2 minutes before moving to next area.
  4. After 1-2 minutes buff off with our Crazy Pile or BOA towel.
  5. Repeat step 3 and 4 across all paintwork.
  6. Stand back and admire the beauty!
  • Special Note: Using multiple layers of Victoria Concours Red Wax produces added depth and an unbelievable exotic wet finish.
  • Storage: Room temperature and out of direct sunlight.
  • Do not: leave in the trunk of your vehicle or allow to overheat as wax can separate.

The instructions on the tub say it can be applied with your fingertips or with a foam wax applicator.
Although I have applied wax with my fingertips many times, I choose, in this case, to use the foam applicator.
I applied it kinda thin (but probably thicker than I should have) and it still removed with a very minimal grab.
This was to be expected due to the fact I probably applied too much. It is better to apply multiple thin coats.

I used the short nap side of the CarPro 2 Face (No Lint) 16" x 16" - towel and followed up with the long nap side.
This is not a Wipe-on/Wipe-Off (WOWO) wax. I let it "haze" and did a swipe test to make sure it was ready to remove.

The results were amazing! I know you have heard all the detailing terms "shiny, glossy etc" but this flat out sparkled!
IMHO Victoria Concours Red Wax is a must-have for your detailing arsenal. I hope Dr Oldz takes the time to try it out!

Below are my results with the first coat!

Sadly, the pictures do NOT do the "look" justice! If you're looking for the Saturday night sparkle IMHO this is it!
Note: Pictures were taken in the morning sun. (f/13, Exposure 1/200, Aperture 4.5, focal length 38mm, JPEG high)
If you have not tried it out do yourself a favor and pick up a tub. You will love it! "It is SOOOOOO underrated."

I have been using Vic’s red for many years. Love Vic’s waxes! I agree with what you said here. The only thing I do differently is only do a panel at a time then remove. It is more of a WOWO type wax. If it hazes, you let it go too long. Maybe that’s why it was a little grabby for you. It’s possible they changed the formula now where it is required to haze. ???? My big Jar is about 4 years old. This is one of the few waxes that I find a second layer actually does make a difference in appearance.

Nicely done. Good to see some wax lovin’ in these parts.

Looks great Merlin! What is the longevity?

I'm not sure about the longevity yet...I just applied it but this car sits outside 24/7 in south Florida sun.
After a couple of days of rain and morning dew, it still looks spotless...that's kinda kewl in itself.
