How hard is Benz jet black paint? About to polish and may need to run out for some heavier cut pads...

What year vehcile is it? Mercedes uses ceramic clear coat, so it's very hard. Be prepared to do some heavy cutting.

Yes it's very hard. Rupes21 with megs mf cutting pad and megs 105 takes like 3 passes to get rid of all swirls and scratches....

Mild wash induced marring: Optimum Hyper Polish on a CarPro Gloss pad works great and LSP ready.

Heavier scratches/swirls: Optimum Hyper Polish on Meguairs Microfiber cutting pad followed by Hyper Polish on a Gloss Pad worked great on my black 2012 MB!
 
2 passes with megs MD cut and 105 with a final pass with black foam finish pad and megs 205 gave me amazingly shiny results.

Time consuming sure but was excellent finish.

i have done about 7 different black MB's with the ceramic clear coat. Rupes paired with Carpro flash pads and flat top works great for me. I get flawless results with two passes and thats on severely damaged paint. Finish up with gloss pad or LC red pad with either Reflect or Essence and it will be better than new.

Had 55k miles, was always taken to the auto wash ran by high school kids. Not once ever polished or waxed...

The owner was blown away and couldn't of been happier!!

Took 3 passes with my rupes 21. 2 with megs mf cutting disc and #105 and one with griots black foam finishing pad and megs #205.

About 30hrs labor...
