Just wondering if anyone is using microfiber to initially remove coating after UK has had time to flash? I’ve read about people using a low GSM microfiber towel and having great success. What towels are recommended?

I tried using the MS towels and had a hard time removing the product. I ended up using 2 MF towels. 1 for the initial wipe and 1 to buff off the excess. I used cquk 3.0. It flashed extremely fast.

I,ve got plenty of low gsm towels and a few eagle edgeless 500 gsm. Would the 500 gsm be ok for the final wipe?

Hey @dman68. So Ill start off by saying that you can in fact use the 500gsm towels for final wipe, but it may be a little more difficult than towels with a lower gsm. depending on the coating, the towels may be sufficient to wipe off your coating, or in some instances, it may just be too thick. Like Merlin and fdresq4 stated the 2 face towels are a great towel for final wipe, and is Sky's the Limits suggested towel for that exact use.

Another fun fact about gsm, since it was brought up. is to note that different towels may all claim they have a specific gsm however will act wildly different when used. Why is this you may ask? Its because many companies will market their towel withe a specific grams per square meter (This statement may be true) however, the quality/ material of the towel may be made of a different caliber and give either heavier/lighter weights. or the fibers may be slightly more spaced out than other towels. Im not stating trust only Carpro towels, however, be cautious about other towels for they may not be of good enough quality and could result in marring/ scratches when doing the final wipe. ( quality is going to be the most important thing here) This is just a generalization of course, and if you find a towel that works for you, by all means keep using it.

Just wanted to share some added info.

I would save those eagle edgeless for detail sprays or items such as Reload. Stick with a low nap towel like a 300-365 gsm towel.

I personally hate that when im applying my qd to my black BMW I see lint all over the place. I recently bought a pair of Carpro 2 face no lint mf towels because of that. With these I dont have lint issues and I can simply enjoy my paint.

Also I was a fan of thick towels but recently im leaning more to less gsm towels because I have like a better feel to it.
