Mini Review: Carpro Gloss Pad

Merlin

I love shiny things
This wound up being a mini review of mixed products.
I'm gonna keep the verbiage short and let the pics speak.

I am very impressed with Shine Supply Flat Top!
It's nice to work with, cuts great & finishes down nice.

Mostly this is a 1st use review of Carpro Gloss Pad.
A+ I really enjoyed using these super soft foam pads.
They make the Rupes 21 even more of a joy to use.

Products used:
Rupes 21 with a 5" backing plate.

Correction:
Carpro Flash Pad and Shine Supply Flat Top
I'm very impressed with this product/pad combo. A quick job of correction

Finishing:
Carpro Gloss Pads with Reflect
The Gloss pads are surprisingly soft and are an excellent combo choice for Reflect

Interesting enough the test vehicle is a 2008 Benz S36 AMG
This paint did NOT react well to any machine but the Rupes.
It laughed at the PE-14 Rotary and it hated the Flex 3401.
When I used the Rupes 21 the paint sang and it was happy.

This has got to be the shortest review I've ever written.
This product combo made short work of a very stubborn paint.
When it works...it works. Thanks for looking.

Nice review Merlin, thanks for sharing your thoughts with us! I agree with you, I too am loving the Gloss pads and Shine Supply Flat Top! Great and deadly combo for sure!!

Awesome Merlin!! Thank you for taking the time! Great turnaround [emoji3]

I've used them with a 3401 with great results!

IMHO the CarPro Gloss pads are and excellent compliment to the Reflect polish.
I apologize for any confusion. So far, I have only tried the CP Gloss pads on the Rupes 21.
I am looking forward to trying the CarPro Gloss pads with many different types of machines.
When I get the opportunity to try these pads on different machines I'll be sure & post my results.
Other folks that have already used these Gloss Pads with different machines please post your findings.

During correction only the Rupes 21 and the 2008 Benz black paint played well together.
I tried both the Flex PE-14 rotary and 3401 VRG with the same CarPro Flash pads.
It really wasn't about the pads. It was about the machines and THIS paint.
The others machines left some on the table. The Rupes cleared it up.
Again, JMHO as with all things we test & use what works each time.
For me, the right machine choice for this paint was the Rupes 21.

During finishing I used the same Rupes machine to save time.
The Rupes, CP Gloss pads & Reflect polish did a great job!
I have not tried the 3401 with the Carpro Gloss pads.
I was lazy & stuck with what worked for this paint.

NOTE: I like happy singing paint.

Merlin, you can keep your evil review to yourself..... You did that so I would have no choice but to spend more money with Corey!!!

Great work buddy, thanks for sharing. I will definitely have to put them on my next order

For those who have used the Gloss pad with the Flex 3401, which size pad and backing plate did you use? I am thinking I could purchase the Flex 4 3/8 plate for the 5" pads. I just made my first order with CarPro and now want to add more, great review!

I've been using Gloss Pads for around 6 months now and I just want to say that they make the best finishing/jeweling pad that I have ever tried. It is just such a nice soft smooth pad to work with. I've used it with Menz 3800/4500 with beautiful results and lately I've bee n using it with Polish Angel Final Polish which breaks down sooo nice. I just picked up some 2 and 3 inch Glosd Pads to go with my Rupes Mini and Nano. Thanks CarPro, keep up the good work.

The Carpro Gloss finishing pads have quickly become my favorites.

If you would like a final polish I'd suggest trying Essence (fine abrasives & nano-tech Quartz) with a mf finishing pad.
* Very little goes a long way.

If your looking to do High Gloss Jeweling and LSP in one, I would suggest trying Essence PLUS with a Gloss pad.
* Formulated for professional use on coated vehicles, Non-abrasive, Excellent Hydrophobic abd Extreme Gloss!

Thanks for this. I tried the Gloss pad a year ago with an 8mm, not very good luck (skip & swirl).
Will now go back and try both, Flash & Gloss with my 12mm, 15mm and Reflect and PA

If you were having problems with the pad skipping, put a little more polish on the pad for lubrication and it should stop.

Any tips on drying? I washed mine, squeezed all of the water out then let it sit over night. The next day I blotted it with a paper towel which came up dry then spun it for a few seconds on the flex. Everything looked good so I applied reflect and started to polish. Then it threw water everywhere. It seemed to be collecting where the blue and white foam meet but didn't come out until it had both pressure and rotation. Seems like I could de better but after two attempts I just can seem to get it right. Any tips?

What I do...
After I wash the pads I put them face down/velcro side up on a Shamwow (Yeah I know but it absorbs the water)
I let 'em sit overnight face down so any residual water will drain away from the velcro backing.
I haven't had an issue since. I get a nice dry pad every time I pick them up off the Shamwow.
