My CQUK 3.0 experience

I was lucky enough to win a CQUK 3.0 kit from our forum sponsor. It’s been sitting here for a few weeks and today I finally had to chance to use it.

1. Washed & clayed the car.
2. Corrected the finish with Menzerna FG400 & MF pad on the Flex 3401.
3. Gave it a final polish with CarPro Reflect & MF pad on the Flex 3401

I am still torn on whether I like the MF pads or not. They seemed to work much better on my Subaru clear coat than on this VW clear coat. I really like Carpro’s old Reflect formula. Once I use it up I think I’ll try Essence. Reflect finish’s down so nice, no dust and almost nothing to wipe off.

4. Wipe down with CarPro Eraser. I really love Eraser. While it preps the paint as intended, I like to use it to occasionally clean my exterior glass. Just leaves such a nice clean surface. Great product. [emoji106]

5. First test spot of CQUK 3.0 to see how quick it flashes. I did a 1’x1’ spot. Crosshatched the paint with 2 lines on the little pad wrapped around the applicator. Damn, it goes on super smooth, flashes quick and no high spots. Not tacky like the old CQUK. Seems to apply smoother than the old CQUK.

6. Bumped up to a 1/4 or 1/2 a panel. Hood was 4 sections. CQUK 3.0 flashed quick and needed minimal leveling. I used the included suede cloth to level & a gold MF to finish. Very little leveling and finishing was needed.

7. After I coated all the paint and trim 2x with CQUK 3.0 I applied a quick coat of Reload. This little bottle of a Reload has a lot of sediment in it. I shook it a good minute to get the sediment into Suspension and the included sprayer was so-so. I don’t know if it was getting clogged with sediment or just a crappy sprayer. My past batches of Reload were not like this. But I did get all the coating covered and it wiped off just fine.

Overall the new CQUK 3.0 is a HUGE improvement in application process compared to the old CQUK. As a hobbyist this saves me a ton of frustration. I had good luck with the original CQUK, but High spots were frustrating and the sticky nature was frustrating. This new stuff is super awesome!!

I’ll try to post some pictures tomorrow. Thank you again to Corey, Merlin and the forum!

Unfortunately it’s pouring rain now. [emoji5] covered in dirt/mud from our dirt roads.

So just a beading shot. But the paint depth & clarity is so much better even knows its white.

Being in FL also, have you used the CQ original? Which do you prefer? I’m having lots of frustration with the original.

If you like reflect you’ll love essence! I used essence for the first time this past weekend and I absolutely LOVE it! Ordered a small bottle to give it a shot and already ordered another bottle as a back up.

Here’s a video of UK 3.0 hydrophobic action on my daughter's car that I applied about 2 weeks ago.
