Not really sure what caused this and I can't correct it.

I recently ran into some issues when I went to prep my car for CQUK. I washed with Reset, clayed the car and then inspected it. Upon inspection I saw some weird marks on the passenger side hood. It's only on this part of the hood and is very hard to take pictures of. It's the part right in the glare of the reflection.

I tried buffing with an orange hex logic pad and V34 from chemical guys and it's not making a dent at all!

Any thoughts on what it could be?

Do you mean the scratches?

I'm not familiar with V34. Give me a call and see if we can figure it out.

It's that weird spot just to the bottom or left of the sun spot?

Did anything set on the paint and get baked in by the sun?

To me it looks exactly like plastic or a cover was left on the hood and the heat caused it to leave an impression where it was resting on the paint.

Years ago I had the bed of my pick up repainted and they covered the rest of the truck with plastic to prevent over spray. Every spot the plastic layed on the paint it left a weird hologram that looks exactly like that.

This was before my detail days so I just left it but I would think the right combo of pad and polish (or probably compound) would fix this. I hope this helps and good luck I hope you can fix it.

To me it looks like I had some sort of water on the hood, rain? , and drove off and it caused streaking up the hood
