Pad Cleaning

Air compressor is best, followed by pad brush, then microfiber towel.

When using the pad keep it on the polisher and turn it on, then blow with compressed air while it's spinning. I use this method WHILE I'm using the pad. Once I'm done for the day I spray all my pads with an APC and then hand wash them under warm water and let them air dry standing up.

At Meguiar's HQ in Irvine, they machine wash their DAMF pads, just like you would a MF towel

I send the dirty ones back to Corey as "defective" and her promptly replaces with clean ones ... No questions asked.

PS. I hope Corey doesn't read this and catch onto my gig here.

What is best way to clean pads? Both micro fiber and foam?

Whatever you do don't wash foam pads and fiber pads in the washing machine at the same time!!

Ask me how I learned ----> [emoji19][emoji20][emoji85][emoji15]

I brush foam with nylon brush during use to keep clean. Air compressor is the answer for mf pads. Actually if it's handy for you it rocks for foam too

A little spritz of quick detailer like ONR or UWW on the pad... rub it in a little then compressed air, they will come out like new. No need to do that on MF pads though.

I see what you did there. :)

Can you throw foam pads in the washer machine if so what setting does it matter?

Yes you can wash foam in the machine although SOME pads may delaminate and some pads may shrink slightly.

I clean mine on the fly with a pad brush, compressed air and/or terry cloth towel, and when I am done with it, I thoroughly spritz the face with an APC dilution and agitate with my fingers (squeezing the solution in the foam). I then clean them by hand in hot water (at the end of the day). The APC solution keeps them from drying too fast and works to breakdown the oils making it easier to clean.

What happens?

I washed a wool pad with foam pads a few years ago.. Lol LOTS of fibers get stuck to the foam. They are ruined - no getting it all out.
