Pads..

It's time to replace my LC flat foam pads. I am torn on what to replace them with. I've been happy with these LC pads, but looking to try something new. Just need polish & light cut pads. Should I look at MF? Or just stay with Foam?

Machine: Flex 3401

Polish/Compound: usually use FG400 & CP Reflect

Open to ideas and suggestions.

I also need a new 5.5" Flex backing plate. I don't see them on Corey's site, anyone know if he sells them?

IMHO There are a couple of options for a 3401

(6 Pack) 5 1/2" Buff and Shine Foam Pads - Cutting to Wax
LC Lake Country HD Orbital Polishing Face Diameter 6" Blue, Orange and Red
CarPro Flash Pad 5" - Correction
CarPro Gloss Pad 5" - Finishing

E,

To piggyback on the great advice Merlin gave you, I really like the LC HD pads with my FLEX 3401. I also have had good results with the Car Pro Flash pads.

So on the B&S pads the white & Yellow are both called heavy cut? What the difference between them?

How about the B&S MF's?

I have to polish off the CQUK here shortly as the dealership scratched the $hit out of it during an oil change. I asked them not to wash it, but they don't listen.

The Yellow is heavy "cut", and the white is heavy "polishing". The white is considerably less aggressive than the orange.

In order of least aggressive to most aggressive:

"Cream" - Jeweling Pad
"Blue" - Finishing Pad
"Black" - Finishing Pad
"Green" - Polishing Pad
"White" - Heavy Polishing Pad
"Orange"- Medium Cutting Pad
"Yellow"- Heavy Cutting Pad

I have always had a beef about the difference between the white and black finishing pads. Could they get their collective pads together?

As far microfiber discs...I'm a big fan of the Meguiars Microfiber Discs and Carpro Essence.
IIRC there may have been mixed opinions on the use of the Megs mf discs on a Flex 3401?
...I'm not sure....so can anyone chime in here that uses the Megs mf discs with a 3401?

I love that combo. I in fact, have worn out a couple Megs MF pads already with my 3401. Tried the Buff and shine MF pad last night on my wifes C300 MB and came out great with essence. They seem a tad thicker than the Megs pads.

ive had good luck with b&s pads. white being my favorite. im pretty hard on my pads and they withstand heat and the pressure

Found another box in-used LC Flat pads in a Rubbermaid tote I haven't opened since I moved. Nothing like finding 20 new pads still in the packaging. So I ended up ordering a 5-pack of Buff & Shine MF pads (3 polish & 2 cut).

Thanks for all the input and ideas!
