Hey guys I am curious as to what products work best for polishing the majority of cars. If you had to stick to a certain type what would it be? I have used Adams Polishes on many cars and liked it with my Flex DA 3401 but I recently bought Carpros polishes and have yet to try them... Also just recently put CQuartz UK on my hood and loved it! What do you guys think compared to waxes and other products? I also recently bought iron x and eraser and I am wondering the best cleaners before polishing and sealing paint/wheels/trim/everything under a decent budget! Thanks guys!

Welcome to the forum Truitth! The answers to these questions can each become so detailed in itself that asking all of them at once has the affect of nobody answering as they aren't willing to bite that much off at once. I understand (trust me) that you want to have all the answers on one place... Or at least thats the reason I used to ask in the same manner you did above. But it just never works out. Best way to do it is ask a single question or maybe a couple at most.

I am afraid you may not get much feedback on this also because of the generalized questions BUT I hope I'm wrong!!! Will be great if people share their opinions with you or share why they have a hard time answering them.

The answers you would receive and may still :) would be:

First thing I would say is put down a line of tape and try the ones you have side by side and see what you like most. Post on the forum here any questions as far as troubleshooting if needed.

To answer you-

Many guys would say Meguiars or Menzerna, as those are the two that have owned a large market share for years and Americans are very hesitant to try a polish they haven't been told is very good by the masses. We are happy to try a thousand waxes or washes or anything else but polishes in this country the majority are afraid to invest in for some interesting reason.

My answer is as follows- I use to use Menzerna a lot and liked their polishes (other than the finishing polishes being too oily) BUT when we were developing CarPro Reflect I fell in love very early on! I haven't looked back... Currently my favorite compound is Scholl Concepts S3 Gold paired with the Spider pad I am VERY excited to be trying a new combo this weekend... The S3 with our new Flash pads Well, new as far as using it on the 6.25" pad anyway... Should be very interesting :):)

Also just recently put CQuartz UK on my hood and loved it! What do you guys think compared to waxes and other products?

Yes.... CQuartz UK is INCREDIBLE... best bang for your buck on the market imo with results rivaling many more costly coatings out there. Compared to waxes and other products? VERY general question.... BUT as far as functionality and protection goes waxes do not stand up to the protection of CQuartz UK. Another item you MUST look at is Hydro2 next time you are in the market for a sealant... Check out the review I did on it awhile back in the review section. I'm assuming you have Reload as well?

Tradtional Sealants my favorite for years has been Four Star Ultimate Paint Protection Waxes, Doc has an insane thread over on L2D where he has reviewed many of them. - Best bang for your buck in that market is Victoria Waxes

Ahhh, as far as "cleaners" this is quite general. SO, Iron X removes the brake dust and iron contaminants but doesn't degrease much or remove the leftover wax and organic crud.

Eraser is formulated to "erase" the leftover oils from AFTER you wipe off your polish.

Coating prep you would:
Iron X snow soap "neat" on your mitt rinsing mitt after every couple panels and adding more directly to mitt
Quick dry with the Waverider
Iron X spray
Rinse
Clay
Dry with the Waverider
Polish
Eraser
Coating

Wax or Sealant Prep (you could do similarly to above but with wax and traditional sealants you don't "Have to" polish although the polishing is where most gloss comes from.

So, assuming you didn't have to polish you could -

Iron X snow soap "neat" on your mitt rinsing mitt after every couple panels and adding more directly to mitt
Quick dry with the Waverider
Pre wax cleaner
And finally either Wax or Sealant.

Finally if you want fast gloss and protection that withstands the harshest climates and is nothing short of a miracle look at Hydro2!!

As always Corey is spot on with his reply. If you are familiar with Adam's Polishes then you will probably want to stick with either Menzerna or Scholl Concepts compounds/polishes as they are diminishing. Meguairs are non diminishing which require you to work the product differently. One isn't harder to work than the other just different.

Scholl Concepts has some amazing compounds and pads. Their white spider pad used with Menzerna FG400 or Scholl Concepts S3 has as much cut as a microfiber disc but finishes down extremely well.

Reflect buy far is one of the best polishes I've ever used.

I don't wax very many cars anymore, most everything I do gets coated. However on the few occasions I don't coat I use Reload, love that stuff. Add's gloss, doesn't attract dust, beads water like crazy and easy to apply.

Hope this helps some.
