Hello everyone,

My name is Jakub Styczynski and I apply CQ UK for about one year. Some time ago I have noticed a problem with really fine scratches after full correction proces.I have done more research on those micro scratches and I have tried everything : Soft pad with green compound from 3M, Soft pad with T2 polish from Brayt, Soft pad with yellow polish from 3M and medium soft pad with yellow polish from 3M. After single test I had used ipa to check the results and micro scratches were still there. Ofcourse between changing products I was changing pads for a new one. I polish with Flex rotarry buffer with speed of 900-1000 rpm with medium pressure on the first two passes and with no pressure at all on next two passes. I am attaching a video of my working subject which is Audi A3 2006 sline (the car was partly repainted, but scraches are everywhere)I also add some pictures before correction proces. I will be pleased to see what do You suggest me to do. Do You think that Reflect polish will work?

Sounds like it's time to change your abrasive technology and your polishing action. Meguiars m205 or ultimate polish combined with a polishing pad like the lake country white hybrid on a dual
Action polisher should do the trick. To stay in the Carpro family use reflect in lieu of m205

I just ordered Reflect polish. Instead dual action polisher can I use orbital electric sander from Mirka?

I had a weird thing happen to me recently. Compounded a black MB with Meguairs M101 with CarPro Flash pad and followed up with Reflect on a Buff & Shine white pad. Looked ok to the naked eye but when I put an led light source lots of marring. Switched to Optimum Hyper Polish and an orange Buff & Shine pad and it cleared everything up.

Have You used ipa after polishing? Becouse I did polish the paint with yellow polish from 3M and the paint was looking great but then to prepare the surface for cq uk I had used ipa and then marring appeard.

I did. The marks still existed until I tried Hyper Polish. Could your marks be towel marks? I used Rag Co.'s Eagle Edgeless for polish removal and CarPro's BOA m/f for 91% Alcohol wipe.

I have used Reflect polish with my Flex 3401 and HD ORBITAL and Car Pro Flash pads with great success. As far as the electric sander...You shouldn't need to use it and, for myself, would be leary.

Marks are not from towels becouse they are circular and You can see that those scratches are made by a buffer. I did one more test and it worked! I have polished smaller sections with more passes and after wiping with ipa the paint looks 97% perfect. Do You have any tips and tricks for polishing? I am still learning and an advice will be nice :)

What did you use?

I'm a big fan of wiping off compound/polish with BOA towels and Eraser.

I just used the BOA's last weekend...they are top notch towels. Not as "fluffy" as the Microfiber Madness or Rag Co's Eagle Edgeless. For compound/polish removal the nap on the BOA's is perfect. Quality towel for sure.

I did use yellow polish from 3M with soft pad but i doubled the time and worked on a smaller area. I have just applied first layer of cq uk and I noticed another problem xd My towels leave fibers when wiping off flashed cq uk. I used 880gsm eageless microfiber towel and the same problem was with normal 320 gsm all porpose towel. Which towels do You use to wipe off the coating? And what do You do with them after wiping off cq uk?

I use the Carpro 16" x 16" BOA's to remove CQuartz products.
(Washed first with Micro-Restore MicroFiber Detergent)
I've had good luck with BOA's wiping off coatings, even CP Quartz Finest.

I've been told that after removing the coating place towels in APC mix.
For me this is just not safe enough. I will throw them away to be safe.
That's me. I don't feel it's worth the risk of cured CQuartz on a towel.

CQUK is incredibly difficult to apply on super soft black paint. I worked on a truck which got repainted Jet Black(Worst respray I've ever seen by the way), the paint was so soft even a Crazy Pile was very light marring the finish in some way. This is was 44 hour paint correction, even with CQUK I noticed some marring and scratches in the paint when I came for a revisit.
