ReApply Gliss after 3 months? how to prep

I am planing to apply another layer of Gliss, and would like to ask what would be the prep process for this, shall I just decon the paint with Iron-X and apply? or Clay the surface?
I assume that even a light polish with finish pad will be worst as it will remove cQuartz UK right?

I completely polished my car and applied 2 layers cQuartz UK and 1 top layer of Gliss about 3 months ago, more than satisfied with the results and were totally in love with the silk and smooth surface i ended up with, weekly washing with Reset, never applied any other wax/sealant on top of that, just some drying aids but thats it. (should I be using anything on top of Gliss like a wax?)

There are no noticeable swirls or stretches to worry about.

The reason behind apply Gliss again is that for some reason i still dont understand the car was left for a week with a LOT of dust, I wasn't worried at first as it was just dust, i knew i was going to wash it the next week, so did I, taking the regular care, 2 bucket method with an extra pre-rinse to remove all the dust, but still after that wash the surface now looks like sandpaper, it lost all its slickness and smoothness and you can even notice tha MF towels sticking on the paint. I do not see swirls nor scratches but it really feels like sandpaper, its horrible.

Would appreciate the recommendations.

Where was the car parked? Is it outside most of the time?

There is no need to reapply in my opinion. Sounds like you need a decon wash.

Try using Ironx and a strong wash with Reset and see if that helps.

The car is (and was during that week) mostly parked in a indoor parking, but with gravel floor and other cars parking around , which causes the floor to move all the dust, so the car looked like it was parked for 1 year, the car was parked 4 days in a row then went outside for a drive (and had to admit at mid/high speeds reaching ~120mph) hoping the dust would fly away, lol, then parked 3 more days and went directly to a heavy rinse and wash.

I will try a decon wash as you mention, but i doubt, I already washed the car 3 times since that and it feels the same.

I wonder if I should try to clay the surface and see what comes out? clay shouldnt remove any coat, does it?

thanks for your help

Claying a coating is not recommended as it may degrade the coating but also that it may marr the coating. We all know that marring is removed by polishing which will remove the coating. Some say a light clay is ok but it is up to each individual person if they choose to clay their coating. Give the decon wash a try and see if that does help.

Went ahead and checked my stash and turns out I ran out of Iron-X, so i will need to order some more, found only a <M> (another brand) wheel cleaner that contains Iron remover, will try in a small spot with that and see if makes any effect.

Besides all that, what would be the product recommended to layer on top of Gliss? (assuming below is cquartz uk) , just Reload or anything else like any wax/sealant? Essence maybe? never tried that one yet.

Reload or Elixir.

Essence will remove it as it’s an abrasive polish. Essence Plus on the other hand is non-abrasive.

A wax will negate the properties of the coating. Waxed also tend to attract more dust.

Quick update on this thread, I tried the decon wash with IronX without much sucess, so I clayed a small part on the rear spoiler to see the effects and found the source
Turns out the clay started to reveal a blue color, and my car is green... I started to worry. Then checked a few more spots, same thing.

Long story short, the car was about 5 meters away when someone was painting with a blue spray, and it went all over the car, its not noticeable to the eyes, but its there. not a HUGE amount, but that "sand" effect i was feeling on the paint are exactly that, dots of the spray paint...

I guess there are not other option than clay the whole car and then will need at least a finish polish and re-apply cQuartz/Gliss... is it? is there anything better to remove that surface paint?

I even clayed a glass and it was the same, blue-ish color out of the window, I did clayed the whole trunk lid and now the paint feels almost as silk as it was before, we will see...
