Reload and Hydr02

Hi Everyone

This is my first post and just wanted to say hi and love carpro's products.

My question is can these two products be used on a car that has a wax or sealant on the surface ?

Thanks :D

Welcome!!

In my experience you would do well to NOT mix and layer them. I know people are bonkers for layering this on that and etc etc and there's a ton of deceptive online writings and marketing on doing so but very few products should actually be layered in my opinion. In many cases it's either a waste or a detriment to both products involved.

In this case the Reload wouldn't bond as well with wax in the way of the paint and Hydro2 would either streak trying to get through the wax or not last as long.

You MIGHT have good results but you might not and having a wax in the way certainly won't help anything.

Hi M,

Welcome aboard!

As for your question, a sealant should be first then the wax. So if your car has a wax that is its LSP, I would say remove the wax then apply either Reload or Hydro.
If your current LSP is a sealant than you "can" apply Reload or Hydro on top of it but....

If it was me I would remove you current LSP then apply one of the two. The new version of Reload is great and can lasts up to six months where as Hydro last 3 months or so. Prep and Decon is key for any LSP ' S longevity, along with proper maintenance too.

I actually applied a sealant 3 weeks ago, but no wax, it seems the seaant isn't really beading anymore so that's why I was looking to use reload or hydr02

In this case Hydro2 would be fine - it will bond. Just wash well before use and use the following tips.

Rule #1 wash the car
If it has wax or sealant use a soap that will kill that a bit. (Iron x and claying optional)

Rule #2 rinse well and apply a fine mist of Hydro2 (diluted at least 4:1 to the wet / cool surface

- RINSE after that section which will be about 30 seconds at most from when you started (this basically means you break the car into 5-6 sections at a minimum.

NOTE: Rinse means you rinse everywhere the product did or may have landed or floated in the air or dripped onto.

Move to next section

That's it

For instance if your spraying the passenger side and you see the wind is blowing away from you just go ahead and assume you will be rinsing all the horizontal surfaces to avoid tiny overspray dots.

So, you sprayed the passenger side, it's 20-35 seconds later or sooner if your really fast, you pick up the hose and turn it on. FIRST thing you do is spray off the roof and horizontals really fast to dilute any mist up there (takes 5 seconds to dilute it) and then get to the side you intended on. If you think your moving too slow then run a mist of water across the whole side and then rinse more thoroughly immediately after.

If your slow then break the car into 8 sections or even more if you want to be safe.

Glass: if the car was baking in the sun and the interior was 180F consider the fact the glass may be warm and you need to cool each panel a bit with running water before a fine mist of Hydro2 etc

Hehe!! Good tips from you to Steve!

If you go Reload I would strip it really well like Steve said and then rinse well, Eraser, Reload.

I'd go Reload.

Strip it, Eraser it and Reload it!

Reload v2015 is totally awesome. A little goes a long way.

Thanks for the information, great community and excellent support from CarPro...very rare you get this kind of support :D
