Reusing product bottle as water bottle

I just finished a 500ml bottle of Perl, removed the label and gave the bottle multiple washes. There’s no scent of Perl left.

Is it safe to use as a drinking water bottle?

Has anyone else ever tried completely repurposing a container and been surprised by how successful it was? I meticulously cleaned an old Perl sauce bottle to use for homemade salad dressing, and honestly, after a few washes, the Perl smell completely disappeared! I'm so glad I didn't just throw it away. Anyone else have similar upcycling successes?

GREAT! Now car-care product manufacturers need to add ANOTHER warning on their product labels to avoid liability suits:
"Do NOT re-use this bottle for any other product, liquid, or purpose other than that on the label"
It is funny-not-funny, considering the lawsuit-happy society we live in these days AND all the TV commercials we see for lawyers and the numerous class-action suites for products that have caused heath issues or personal harm.
To KathieAskew: If you were a guest at my home , served a salad to eat, and asked for Italian salad dressing for your salad, and I placed a brown quart bottle in front of you with an attached white adhesive label (or masking tape, which is what I use when I label and identify repurposed bottles) hand-printed in block letters with a black permanent marker with the notation "Capt.Obvy's' Homemade Italian Dressing" on it, OR worse, with no label and I told you it was Italian Dressing in a more durable bottle, would you use it?? Didn't think so. (Yeah, I would not trust Captain Obvious, either!!!... Just sayin'...)
