REVIEW: Carpro Waffle Weave Drying Towel

Here is a quicky review on this fine Monday morning!!

We had quite a few maintenance vehicles in the shop over the weekend and it dawned on me that nobody ever spoke of the incredible value those CarPro Waffle Weave towels are. I came across them on CarPro-US.com and said "what the heck!!!". There has been no mention of them specifically on the forums, although many threads across the detailing world advocate waffle weave towels for drying. I've used the green Cobra waffle weaves before and liked them, but needed quantities for production maintenance, and I always felt that those green waffle weaves were a little pricy for how they performed. I had tried the Cobra HD and HATED THEM!!, and couldn't see myself investing in the Microfiber Madness Dry Me Crazy for production work, so I decided to purchase 4 of them. So lets compare them for a minute!!

The Guzzler by Cobra.

Made in Korea
Color: Blue
Size: 25"x36"
Blend: 80/20
GSM: 465 g/m2
Retail: $15/towel(when bought individually. You actually get 10% off with 4-5 and 15% with 6+)
Cost/sq.in.:
  • $15/(25"x36")sq.in= $0.016

My Observations:
Both are extremely soft however I found that the CarPro was a little more plush. Both have the satin border. Both boast about their non-marring qualities. In terms of function, I DEFINITELY found that the CarPro Waffle Weave was better at soaking up water.

My Conclusion: CarPro is a clear winner on multiple level.
1. Better GSM
2. Slightly more plush
3. Better at soaking up water
4. AND MOST IMPORTANTLY...... much better value!

Great review Claude! I'm thrilled you noticed all of these things :) I don't really talk about this towel much since I love the Madness but if you weren't buying a madness towel I am doubtful you could find a better one then this.

I tried quite a few when looking for a drying towel (b.mm.) and these were the chosen.

These look nice. I just wish they didn't have a satin border..

Thanks for taking the time to review.
