I love shiny things
ScanGrip MultiMatch 2 C+R Colormatch Version 2 vs. SCANGRIP Multimatch Version 1
SCANGRIP Multimatch (Prior Version 1)
2000 lumen, LED, and ultra-high CRI LED
Two brightness settings
Operating Time: 6 hours
Charging Time: 3 hours
First Generation (Prior Version 1)
ScanGrip MultiMatch 2 C+R Colormatch Version 2 (Battery)
2500 lumen, Ultra High CRI COB LED, 2 color LIGHT, providing 2 different color temperatures
user-friendly display showing both battery capacity and the remaining operating time.
The WARM LIGHT (4500K) option is especially useful for bright (white) surfaces
The COLD LIGHT (6500K) option is ideal for dark colored (black) surfaces
5-step dimmer to adjust the light into five different brightness levels
Operating Time: 1-14 hours
Charging Time: 2 hours
Second Generation
I choose the ScanGrip MultiMatch 2 C+R Colormatch (battery) over the ScanGrip D-Match 2 (AC only)
NOTE: The (AC only) ScanGrip D-Match 2 has five different brightness levels. 500-5000 lumens
ScanGrip D-Match 2 (AC only) version has a 16 foot cord which in most cases is long enough for a car.
Although, not as bright, the Battery version is VERY portable...I can hold it in my hand to inspect close.
I like to put my hand through the back bracket and put my hand over the battery assembly to hold it.
The V2 has a "convenient handle cutout". I don't use it doing inspection but it's nice to for carrying.
Mounting both versions on the tripod Scangrip Dual Bracket
In my case, I already had a Version 1 and I wanted to mount both version 1 and 2 on a stand.
Both versions 1 and 2 direct mount on the SCANGRIP TRIPOD and WHEEL STAND with no issues.
My challenge was mounting "both V1 and V2 versions" on a stand using the ScanGrip Dual Bracket.
Here is what I did...
The end result...the Version 1 sits "slightly higher" than the Version 2 but, visually...IMHO maybe 1/2"
Attaching to the Scangrip dual bracket
The version 1 drops into the hanger bracket and slides to lock into place.
The version 2 screws into the dual bracket through a hole in the handle.
To get them to "look even" I screwed the handle into the bracket from the bottom.
I'm not worried about it falling off as the locking screw is very long and solid.
Changing light temprature
It's simple to change the light color from WARM to COLD light.
All you need to do is turn it off and hold the power button in for 3 seconds.
When you turn it back on the light temperature is changed.
The ScanGrip MultiMatch 2 C+R Colormatch is my #1 favorite light.
Second is the ScanGrip Sunmatch This is a quick tool to take to a vehicle and show the customer imperfections.
FYI - Sky's The Limit has both the ScanGrip Sunmatch and ScanGrip Sunmatch 2 Handheld rechargeable work lights in stock.
I am happy to share my thoughts and experiences with these lights.
If you have a SCANGRIP Multimatch or you are interested in purchasing one please post in this thread.
