Show 'N Shine: "When Interiors Attack!!" the tail of a 2010 Cadillac Escalade ESV

Good day to all!! This Show and Shine is as a response to one of our forum member who saw this "feature" on my FB. He asked for a breakdown of what was done so I replied to him that I would create this Show and Tell for others to benefit from. I am rushing through this Show 'N Shine a little but feel free to post comments or questions and I will be glad to expand on any steps.

Here is the story. A good client of mine contacted me and asked if I could take care of his wife's SUV. She is an "on the go" very busy mother of 5, and he is a very busy man as well. After a brief conversation we agreed, sight unseen (but with a good understanding), what his expectations were. From his description I was really waiting for a disaster on wheels. I planned my crew of 4 for a whole morning and we were ready!!!

Tools we used:
Tornador black Z-020
GG6 (gen 3) Griot's Garage 6 inch Random Orbital Polisher, Dual action buffer, DA polisher
White Standard Carpet Brush
Interior Carrand Deluxe Interior Brush
Natural Horse Hair Interior Upholstery Brush
Mytee Lite II 8070 Hot Water Carpet Extractor
.... and a variety of microfiber towels
**let's not forget the Qtips and small painters brushes

Products we used
Folex
Wolfgang Carpet and Upholstery Restorer
Meguair D101 All Purpose Cleaner Concentrate
Wolfgang Leather Combo
Blackfire Interior Protectant

What did we have to contend with? If it had to do with kids, it was in there. It ranged from dry cereal to gold fish, to gummy and hard sticky messes. We had the obvious chocolate milk and cola spills and even a nice formula spill on the seat, where the youngest sits. We had dirt on the walls, the ceiling, the door panels, the speaker grills, the leather and vinyl... you can see the damage below! Before I forget, we even had a nice little venomous spider to contend with

So what did the SUV look like? and how did it come out?

Can you believe that this was AFTER the oldest boys spent 30 minutes cleaning and removing everything from the Caddy?? I normally don't post a lot of interior "features" on FB or on the internet because there is a large stigma associated with a dirty interior. For a customer, a trashed exterior is a lot easier to contend with (and explain) because some of the resultants may have been at the hand of someone else (in parking lots etc..) but the condition of your interior sit squarely on your shoulder, and reflects much more closely to who you are. As such, I have almost no customers allowing me to show the interior before/after... even knowing that they won't be identified.

After a solid 4 hrs of work (4 guys) we were able to turn this disaster into a thing to be proud of. She was no show car but definitely was a vehicle that you did not need a Class 4 Hazmat suit to ride in.

Hope you enjoyed!! Leave your comments and questions and I will be glad to follow up on them ASAP

Thanks!

I would have taken it to the local car wash and got them to go over the interior once for $10 first, haha! Great job!

Thanks for posting!

You are very welcomed!

Wew that thing was hammered. Great save Dr. P!

Thanks! The sad part Tad is that I did this about 3 months ago and saw it again this past weekend because the owner wants to sell it..... and you guest it, it was exactly the same!!!

Dear Lord that interior made me throw up in my mouth a little bit . . .

Thankfully medical/PT school prepared me well. I don't get grossed out by anything anymore, especially after gross anatomy ;)

My son's words exactly were "Let's go through a carwash with the doors open! I never thought about getting the $10 special. Considering it took me over 1 hr to vaccum the inside, it would have been a $10 well spent :)

People are crazy the way they treat their cars. "Ohh, it's the kids fault" No, your just a slob & I bet your house looks like that too.

That's a great point about peoples interiors I never considered that.
