What did I do wrong? Eraser - Essence - Reload

Hello, I am more or less a novice when it comes to detailing. I do not use a machine polisher. I am a long time Zaino fan who decided to try something new that would maybe have more longevity, and with fewer steps. With Zaino I had three steps, AIO, Z5, and Z2. After reading multiple forum posts here and at auto geek, I decided to try CarPro products. I purchased Eraser, Essence, Reload, and Reset. This would be a two step process, and supposedly last longer.

My one month old F150 Supercrew only had the minimal wax applied to it from the dealer. I started by washing the entire truck with Dawn and dried the truck with Meguiars water magnet drying towels. Went over the entire truck with Eraser and a clean microfiber towel. I applied Essence by hand using a Scholl Hand Honey Spider puck using moderate pressure, and wiped with clean microfiber cloths. The Essence is fantastic stuff! Truck immediately looked considerably better after Essence treatment. Whole truck took about two hours. Huge improvement over Zaino AIO.

I then went over the entire truck again sparingly with Eraser, and gave it a coat of Reload (used about 2 to 2.5 oz on F150 Supercrew.) Reload applied directly to paint in small areas, and wiped with microfiber cloths. After the first week, I gave the truck a two bucket wash with Reset (1 oz added to 3.5 Gal of Water.) The water was beading fantastically, and I was convinced I found my Zaino Replacement. That was two weeks ago. Now after two more washes, the water doesn't bead at all. WTF?

Please explain what I did wrong. I really want to like this stuff. Truck still looks great, and is easy to wash, but I am not happy about the water beading, or lack thereof. Please help. Everything I read said Reload lasts 4 to 6 months.

Where are you located and what type of road conditions are you driving in i.e., Road salt?

Sunny South Florida. Daily driving to work and back. Haven't even taken the truck off-roading yet.

Man that's tough.

I'm kinda at a loss. After the next time it's due for wash, if the beading has not returned then wash again with Reset and then feel the paint to see if some kind of paint overspray or fallout of some kind could be on the surface. If the paint feels really smooth then I don't know why it's not beading.

Try wiping down ONE panel with eraser again after the reset wash and apply Reload a bit thicker, spread immediately but after its evenly spread, let it sit a minute before wiping off. I'm reaching a bit but just trying to find the variable at fault. See if that solves it on that panel, if so then great! If not then give Corey a ring with your order # and if he can't come up with any other ideas, he will certainly refund or replace it.

Essence PLUS might be the easy solution for you. One step, applies more like a wax (aka you can apply to entire vehicle thin and then wipe off an hour later) and PLUS beads like crazy relative to Essence Primer, so you don't need the Reload.

Hopefully we can skip that whole idea though and the essence with Reload will start working right

Definitely no over-spray. Paint still feels slick. I will eraser the roof, and try the reload again letting it sit for sixty seconds after the initial wipe-in. You cannot see the roof from ground level, so it is my test area. I will try it this weekend, and if it still wipes off easily, I will also reapply to my hood. I will post me results in a couple of months.

I purchased the bottle of Reload from a re-seller on Amazon (Express Health). I'm starting to wonder if I got the real thing?

That's why I buy from Corey. You just never know. He has the latest and greatest in stock and can be reached anytime.

Ahh, this "could" be your problem. CarPro-US does not advocate selling of products on AMAZON, and has no control over products sold by others on AMAZON.

While I certainly agree this could be my problem, I will first try re-applying and leaving the product on for 60 seconds before final wipe down. The product worked amazing for the first week or two, then vanished. I'm guessing I got legitimate product, but anything is possible. If leaving it on for 60 seconds doesn't work, I will buy a very small amount from Corey to try before buying another half liter.

i like to claybar before i do any polishing. even with a new vehicle. don't know if they had any affect of essence/reload not adhering correctly.

i've had good luck on my buddies vehicle i tried essence/reload combo on, got nearly 3 months of good beading then started to diminish and die off around 6

Megalops if I were you,I would do this^^!!
A great opportunity for sure!

Darkhorse, you were 100% correct!

I met Merlin today and received a crash course on auto-detailing. Great to find someone so knowledgeable willing to share some of his knowledge with a relative newbie like me. I certainly learned more today, than I had in my previous 45 years on this subject.

I walked away with a list of products I need to get (many of which I will be purchasing from Corey), and a few tips to try moving forward.

THank you again Merlin!

Thank you for the kind words.
It was my pleasure. I enjoy sharing my passion.
If there is anything I can help with please ask.
It's sad to see DISO on a brand new vehicle.
I'm sure we can take of it and add tons of gloss.
