Personally, I haven't shopped at brick-&-mortar stores on BF weekend since the very early 2000s, before it was even called "Black Friday", and certainly well before it was a "thing" in Canada. Up here our BF is (or was) Boxing Day, the day after Christmas when stores opened at noon for just five or six hours and people lined up to gets earls on albums at Sam The Record Man and whatnot. I think the last time I drove down to the States for BF, the stores still opened at regular store hours or maybe 7 am on Friday. Yes, it was madness, and I ended up saving very little, so I never did it again. Nowadays it's just like Boxing Day (which the retailers turned into Boxing Week and then Pre-Boxing Week), the deals last for days, and many places offer the same or better deals online that at their physical stores, it's just easier to shop from my couch.
Anyway, enough of that. Yesterday I went out to L'Equipeur (Mark's Work Wear) and nailed a pair of Hi Tec low-cut waterproof hikers for $30, down from $100. I needed new walking shoes, perfect.
At midnight I logged on to Home Depot (.ca) and ordered the 10 Amp Snow Joe electric snow shovel for $99 (half off) plus 4% Ebates cash back.
I just woke up so I have yet to see what else is a good deal that I need. Looking for an upright freezer and 14 four-foot twin tube T8s for my garage, hoping one of the online LED sites has a sale on James bulbs and MaxLite fixtures.
