What to use as quick spray detailer?

I have a question about what to use as a quick 'between wash' spray to touch up things on my car between washes.

I have a new car with a recently professionally applied CQuartz UK and I use Reload largely on the weekends (when it isn't raining) about once every 2 weeks to clean and it works really well. But during the week I'll want to clean off a dead bug or some other spot and I'm reluctant to use a dry MF cloth. I'd like to use a detailing spray or something to spray on and give the cloth a little lubrication. Is Reset the right choice here or should I look at something different (milder) for spot use?

Thanks!
Scott

Hi Scott and Welcome!

1. Did you have UK or Finest applied?
2. Reload is a sealant not so much a detailer spray. I use Reload as our CR-V ' S LSP and topped my UK, on my truck, with it. It can last up to 6 months according to Car Pro. Using it every two weeks can get expensive...lol
3. I use Ultima WW for "in between" washes. Me personally, I'm not big on spray detailers between washes any longer. That's just me.
4. Rinseless wash suggestions...Ultima WW, Garry Deans Infinite Use Detail Juice, or Duragloss Rinseless wash. There are others out there and each have their own preference.

A Rinseless wash is what you may want to consider. I mix a bottle with UWW, 3/4 oz to 32 oz. of water, and use that as a pre soak prior to doing a rinseless wash. You want lots of lubrication and for the agent to loosen and soften the "bugs".

RESET is a soap that is great for coated vehicles. I use it in my cannon and in the bucket.

Good luck and let us know if you have any other questions.

Sorry I swapped the 2 products. I have UK applied. I use Reset to wash the car about every other week. It works great. What I am looking for is something to use in between washes just in the garage to clean a spot or two. It sounds like Reload is not the right thing. I'll take a look at the ones you mentioned, thanks.

LOL...no problem Scott. Looks like a great vette you got there. Try a premix of the UWW.
When you get a chance post some pics.

Agreed, Steve couldn't be more right!!! Ultima Waterless Wash Plus is a favorite of most seasoned detailers, and has been for years! It is one of my favorite products. You will be amazed at how well it works, and how many uses you'll find for it once you have it. I haven't used traditional QD sprays for years. A 16 oz bottle makes 5 1/2 gallons of waterless wash!!! It is hyper-concentrated and can be used to make not only waterless wash (that is very slick), but also clay lube, and no rinse car wash solution in bucket. Just 1/2 oz. makes 22 oz. of Ready-to-Use Waterless Wash and just 1 oz. makes 3 gallons of No Rinse.

Another rinsless wash option is Infinite Use Detail Juice. I have been using it on my CQUK'd vehicles with good results. Combined with the CarPro Wooly Mitt makes for an awesome rinsless combo.

I will use Reload as needed since the current version of Reload is totally awesome to use.

Did somebody say pictures? :)

My detailer (Jose @ iWax Auto Detail in Spring TX) did a fantastic job with the prep+CQuartz UK. This is my first coated car and it is a dream to own. I'm going to try to DIY my 2008 Lexus and see how it goes.

You can use Eraser to clean up some spots, will not affect the coat,
other option use Hydro2 1:10 dilution as QD , works fine as well.

Avi, thanks for the extra info; I was wondering the same thing after I washed my car and hit the road we had tremendous rain, and my wheels looked dull the next morning.
