Hello,

my first post here :) I am new to this, and I have chosen to go with CarPro and your other stuff, just because all the great support you guys providing.

Anyway I have a question regarding application Reload v2015:

On your eshop, you are saying, that it should be used short nap MF towel for buffing, and then Crazy pile for wiping. Then I watched your video, and seems that you were using for both buffing and wiping one type of MF towel (probably BOA?)

Maybe it doesn't really matter, but I just wanted to this right, so I wanted to ask what type MFs I should really use.
Can I use Crazy piles for both buffing and wiping? I already have them...

Second related question - can I wash MFs afterwards and use them again? Won't Reload crystallize a bit since it has a nano particles that would be a problem?

Thank you very much and I am looking forward to do this :)

I have used Reload multiple times both 2014 and 2015 version. I actually made a detailed review on the product not too long ago. I also include a lot of tips in there. http://carproforum.com/showthread.php?3080-Carpro-Reload-v2014-vs-v2015-Review

Anyways, I use 1 BOA towel to spread the product and another BOA towel do do the final buff. I do it one section at a time.

Yes, you can re-use the BOA towels many times. Reload will not crystallize but I usually wash my towels with Micro-Restore in washing machine using warm water after each Reload application.

I use BOAs also! They are economical and work great. You need multiple BOAs for the process to go smooth, and want to make sure to dump them in an APC bucket (before washing) to prevent the SiO2 from hardening on the fiber making the BOA useless for future paintwork use.

Here are my tips for the newest formula.

Reload Tips:

#1. check the date on the bottle and make sure you have Reload from after 23/11/14 (date/month/year)

#2 use on clean surface

#3. use outside (for ambient lighting) but not in the sun or on hot panels. If you can get enough ambient lighting through your garage door then thats fine.

#4. Only work with one panel at a time until it looks great from all angles in that lighting.

You apply as follows -

Shake well
Spray a 4-5 sprays directly onto a microfiber towel and spread out left and right and then up and down over a 2 to 2.5 sq ft area

Work it into the paint evenly until almost but not completely gone.

Switch to a fresh clean towel for final buff and remove completely whats left

Should be zero dark streaks at this point but COULD be some oily holograms in certain direct lighting.

If you have any oily holograms a damp mf after each panel should easily remove that.

Thank you for your help. So I will order CarPro BOAs then.
I will experiment with it and report back.
BTW these oily holograms must be removed instantly, or it is no problem to remove them later, it they appear? And did I read somewhere that they can vanish (haha) on its own on a direct sun?

If you get the oily hologram its best to be safe and wipe off with damp MF after a panel or so. They will usually disappear on their own or after first rest wash though

Do not freak out when you see the oil holograms, I'm so used to it because I got it everytime on my dark blue car.

It will somehow magically disappear by evaporation under the hot sun or after a car wash. If you use a dry towel to wipe it, it seems to smear around probably because these are just leftover oil carrier. They are harmless.

OK, thanks guys. My first 4 test cars are all dark colors, so this will be a challenge ;)

So I bought 6 BOAs and boy they stink after Iron X! They were brand new in plastic bags, I don't know if they smell like this from CarPro or the dealer, but it is horrible. I already washed them twice at 40 and then 60 celsius and Chemical Guys detergent, it is better but still awful. Is that normal?

I am a bit confused as to why you used them with Iron X. Iron X should be used with a dedicated sponge, and that sponge WILL stink. I store my sponge (after rinsing and drying thoroughly) in a large sealed baggie. Yes Iron X will most definitely make towels, sponges, shops, etc. STINK! Most likely the BOA's did not come with the stink, the stink was embedded into them when Iron X was introduced.

I did not use BOAs at all. They were brand new and stink horribly probably after Iron X. Iron X can smell unbelievably, when I bought my first bottle I left the new unopened bottle at my apartment and when I came back the other day the whole place stink like a rotten egg :)

Sorry, I missed understood what you were saying. To be clear, if you are saying that they smelled bad upon arrival please call the store # and we will get you taken care of immediately. Are you assuming that Iron X possibly got spilled on them before you got to you? Any who give the store # a call, and we'll get it cleared up...:)

My assumption is, that they were just stored somewhere near Iron X so they got the scent. I just asked here, if this is normal from CarPro, or most likely it is a problem with a dealer I bought them from.

I've ordered a hundred or so towels from CarPro-US and never had one that smelled like IX.

I'd just put them through a wash with Micro-Restore. I'd probably add a couple ounces of distilled white vinegar just to possibly get rid of that good ole IX smell. Air dry them in the dryer and then fold them back up. They'll be good as new.

Good advice from all^^ not sure what happened but sorry to hear that! Run them through the machine again and if your unhappy after that give the store you bought them from a call.

So I did my first two cars, and here is my observations :) Every time I spread Reload by MF one side, buff other side and final buff another towel.
I washed, decontaminated and dried the cars. No polishing yet and no CQUK yet, I am learning step by step the goal was to test Reload.

1) Black pearl sedan
- tried to spray the panel quite a lot, seems to work but I hate the overspray to panels I already did or didn't want to spray at all
- tried combination of spraying the panel and also spray the towel, probably too much of product
- I had little streaks on the whole car, and the panels I did with combination of reload applicated both on panel and towel were really very hologramy
- the car felt very "oily"
- holograms were gone after 1 another wash

2) Dark blue wagoon
- applied Reload only on BOA towels. Mentally I was getting the sense that it is not enough of product, but BOAs were wet so maybe not? I did about 4 sprays per 1 side/panel.
- I am not sure but I think no holograms this time
- the car felt less "oily" and more "slippery"

- Overall, I think that it is really better to not apply Reload on panels, you can figure out the amount of product probably, but the overspray is annoying.
- One thing I was little disappointment - I was probably expecting more "wow/pop/deep/etc" effect, I know that cars werent polished or CQUKed but comparing to carnauba wax I think the Reload was optically sub-par. The hydrophobic effect is clearly visible, but to spot difference on panel on dry clean car is almost impossible if you don't know where the taped line was. Is that normal?

Vanish,

Look at the bottom of your RELOAD bottle. Is there a small tag with a date on it? If so what is it? Sounds like you may the 2014 version.

Thanks,
Steve

It is 2015.

That's weird. Never experienced any of the issues you mentioned with Reload v2015. I actually find it easier than most spray products on the market. I just spray it on the surface, use the MF to spread and wipe off. Then use a 2nd MF to do the final wipe.

I am sure one of the Pro's will chime in with some advise.
