Which Pad for faster cut with S3 - Flash Pad or Spider Sandwhich ?

The answer may be obvious with recent reviews demonstrating Flash pad capability, but when reading descriptions and user opinions some items seem so similar. Would the Scholl Spider Sandwhich be close to par with the Flash Pad ? And is the Flash pad got higher cut than Carpro Cool Pad/Wool Ring etc. ? Will use a finishing step afterwards, but would like to speed up initial cutting of defects.

Good questions!

The cut is a tad more with flash pad, spider pad dusts a bit less, flash pad is more durable.

The flash pad runs hotter
The spider pad a but cooler
The cool pad runs coolest of all.

Which cuts more from flash pad to cool pad or wool ring will depend on technique and polish but if you take technique out I would have to say flash pad.

Corey, great response ! Just what i needed to know. Is the flash pad suitable to do a whole car or just those problem areas ? Durability for the flash pad is a good thing, and it also seems cheaper than the other pads.

You got it bud!

I wouldn't advise use of flash pad on painted plastic panels like bumpers due to heat and twist possibilities.

You can certainly use flash in most places although you will find on curves you will want to switch to a small 3" trim flash pad or a pad with more flexibility.

Yes the flash pad is a REALLY good deal. Of course you will find you still use some other pads too in places. The machine is also an important factor as the flash pad needs a machine with enough power to spin it under a bit of pressure for most comfortable results.

The Spider Pad from Scholl Concepts is in my mind the most advanced concept pad on the market today and we see now pads and systems from other companies trying to follow the leader so I have the utmost respect for Scholl Concepts when it comes to their compound and also the quality of their pads however the Spider pads cost a very hefty price, that's simply the truth.

Thanks for the response Corey. I tried standard Scholl Yellow foam was a lil more comfortable to use than the Carpro Cool Hybrid initially. I found the Cool hybrid a bit jumpy at first ? But both pads made massive difference on one pass with S3. I might get a Flash pad for problem spots and out of curiosity. and use non white Spider Sandwhich pads for refining stage. Using on soft to medium Aussie paints.

How does Scholl S3 Compare to Carpro Fixer ? Interesting in trying the fixer as well.
