Hi: I just bought 4 new Continental DW tires, but now I want make them blacker, but there is some kind of coating on the tires, which seems to be some sort of mold release agent. I need to have this stuff removed before I can apply any type of dressing. Will Tar-X remove this without damaging the rubber? I plan on spraying it on and scrub and then rinse. Will this work and if not what CarPro product will? Thanks,Keith

I always use tar x to deep clean the tire before applying PERL. Never add a problem on tires.

Thanks! I guess you meant to say "never had a problem on tires"? So this Tar-X will remove this ugly mold release,no problem?. Should I spray and let it sit for some time(how long)before I scrub and rinse off? Thanks again!

Yes meant to say that I never had a problem with tar x on tires. I spray direct on the tire wait 1 or 2min then wipe off, repeat if necessary.

Be sure to rinse the tires with a strong stream of water (preferably with a pressure washer, but not a must) after scrubbing.

[/IMG]Seems that the Tar-X removed most of the mold release. Really soaked into the tires fast....had to scrub right away and washed with soap and rinsed good with water. Maybe one more application and maybe some dressing, depending on how black the tires are after Tar-X?!

Certainly dress them afterwards to help to stop this from happening again. CarPro Pearl is amazing as a dressing.

Not sure how this can happen again,as it is only there(mold release agent)one time only, when the tires were manufactured. I want to make sure all the Tar-x is out of the tire pores,as it soaks in pretty good when first sprayed on,before I dress them with Blackfire tire gel. Thanks,Huck:)
