Working on the top of a Tahoe?

Ok guys, I need some tips for cleaning, polishing and drying the top of my Tahoe.
Currently I am able to do the roof forward of the "B" pillars by opening the doors. That is the only part you can see from the ground anyway. The rest... I have been cheating. *hangs head in shame* I have been washing with...wait for it...a long handled brush. Now that you have quit laughing or sneering in disgust regarding my automotive blasphemy, how do you clean them? Even with a step ladder, I can't reach the center without leaning on the sides. How do you correct/polish it. I have just been spraying it with Meg's Ultimate QW so the water beads and everyone just thinks I polish it too.

I Agree. Werner AP-20 I've had mine for years and it's still good as new.

If you want to do it right get two!

You can sit on it to polish the sides and set your machine etc. on it.
You can put two of them end-to-end and walk on em' front to back.
This will save a lot of time & effort not having to move just the one.

Side Note: Be sure and "lock" the legs.
(Please don't ask me how I know that)

As far as leaning on the vehicle...That's where a microfiber apron comes in handy.

I do not like the cheap cotton detailing aprons. Get a microfiber apron.

It keeps my clothes clean, my products handy and the paint safe.

I have a stool similar to that one but check it out since the price is reasonable. I'm 6' and can reach it if I put a foot on the tire and lean. I also like the apron idea, thanks. It had crossed my mind to have plush microfiber coveralls made then just slide all around up there. Detailing made fun. Do you guys actually break out the polishers and correct them or just clean and protect?

Just a side note...I hate maintenance on the high vehicle roof tops.
This includes SUV's, Pick-Up trucks etc. anything with a high roof.
If you don't do a coating anywhere else put in on the high roof!
Why you ask? Did I mention I hate maintenance on a high roof?

...and yes, I break out the polisher on the roof.
"If its paint it gets polished."

One of the best investment I made. I do agree that a microfiber apron should be a must :) I was lucky enough to get one when I purchased my Rupes
