Nice review. Why not use these pads on non flat panels? I use them with my 3401 on non flat panels and they work great.

On the Rupes the machine would stop spinning straight away, which of course is what we used to test the pads.As the pads are extremely aggressive in cutting power, I would recommend extra caution on curves on a rotary. It seems you have it worked out of your Flex though :) It's more just a word of caution for safety.

Nicely done Chris! Thanks for sharing your review with us! I think I use a bit more pressure than you with Flash Pad.
 
I haven't commented on theses yet as I need to play with them some more to learn their sweet spot. I dampened and spun them like I do with the B/S pads. It did help soften it somewhat. I tried it first with Amerirocks. It dulled the paint like wet sanding. I think the pad is too aggressive to use with a heavy compound. Again, I need to test more. It worked best with M205. I don't like 6" pads. I hope they offer a 5" one.

I'd try it without dampening the pad. I've had good luck using these pads with M105
 
I tried these on the Rupes. They work great.....on FLAT panels. Any type of concave, sharp edge, etc and they will immediately stop spinning. This is why I love to use them on the 3401, don't have that problem.

On a side note, I think it's pretty amazing for a heavy cutting pad to finish so well. ChrisDA shows a perfect example of this. We all know reflect finishes fantastic, so you would think if the polish doesn't leave behind haze, a heavy cutting pad should, but that didn't seem to be the case in Chris' video.
