With forte still on my windscreen and my current wipers ( car is 2 months old )Wipers chattered so I

1) rubbed undiluted car soap on the blades but after a few swipes and water chattering came back
2) tried throughly cleaning the blades with eraser still chatter
3) applied reload on the wiper blades still chattered
4) replaced brand new wiper blades with forte on the windscreen still chattered

Gave up hope on forte so I took my DA and used ceriglass to throughly clean the windscreen along with the new wiper blades

And ...tada!! Chatter is gone!

Yes water doesn't fly off the windscreen anymore but at least I don't have to deal with the wipers chattering anymore and rather prefer that. I still have forte on the rest of the windows around the car though just not the front windscreen.

Actually just thinking about it I didn't try the old wipers that had forte on it without anything on the windscreen..might give that a shot tomorrow and see what happens.

Am actually quite disappointed with forte was really hoping it would not cause wiper chatter and it would have gone all onto the rest of the cars as well.

I have applied it to all of my personal vehicles for testing and haven't had an issue yet. Now, I am not discounting the troubles you guys are experiencing.

And Forte does flash really fast during application so I wonder if the 'chatter' could be from some missed areas?

I apply the stuff really heavy... if I am not seeing a visible film trail the applicator... then I am applying more to it. I almost use an entire bottle for one windshield. Almost.

I polish with Reflect/ foam cutting pad on a windshield that is somewhat new. If it was an older vehicle... I would use ceriglass and follow with Reflect. Eraser wipe down and then follow the directions on the Forte box. If you are doing all that and keeping it dry for the said time... then I don't have any further advice.

I wouldn't give up on it yet... give it a 2nd try because it is really the best glass coating I have ever used. Amazingly good! And I've tried one from Malaysia that was supposedly the PREMIER product for repelling rain off of car glass during monsoons seasons! Forte kills it.

Hi Gabe,

like you i apply a heavy coat and am very certain i didnt miss any spots on the windscreem

the only thing i did different from you is polishing with reflect, all i use is Ceriglass followed by eraser wipe down. perhaps that additional step of reflect could be the answer will have to give that a shot.

do you apply forte onto the wiper blades as per instructions on the box as well?

Good deal. Not saying Reflect is mandatory after Ceriglass... I just do it because it makes me feel better. Just a pretty fast 2nd step with a D/A is all it is.

No, I personally do not apply Forte to wipers.
 
I applied Forte last Saturday and allowed it to "cure" through the weekend to Monday morning (no wipers, no water, didn't drive my car). Overall, my glass was/is very well maintained--no chips, scratches, swirls or water spots/etching. My car is relatively new (2017 M3 purchased last fall, approx. 8K miles) and washed weekly with Reset and regularly maintained with Reload and Iron-X.

In terms of application, I de-con'd and polished my windshield and followed up with an Eraser wipedown. I applied two coats of Forte to the windshield for fear that I would run out of product.

This morning was the first time I got to assess the performance of Forte. Overall, the beading was excellent and I did not experience any wiper skipping. However, I noticed that the water did not start moving until I hit around 55-60 mph.

That said, I had some questions:

1. I have a good amount of Forte left over. Can I apply a third coat? Will it aid the performance of Forte?

2. For future applications, can I use the Carpro suede applicator cloth and block to apply Forte? I found the cotton pads to be uncomfortable to use.

3. Can I top Forte with Reload, as I do with the rest of my CQF coated car? Is it generally safe to use a dedicated auto glass cleaner from another brand (I have no problem with using Eraser, but I have a fair amount of other glass cleaners that I would rather not waste).

Last week, I applied two layers of Forte to my windshield. The water beading is great and I do not have any problems with wiper blade skipping. However, I noticed that the water does not really fly off the windshield until I hit around 55-60 MPH. Would it be safe to apply a third coat? Also, can Forte be topped with Reload?
