Coated last week- now water spots

Finished three coats of UK 3.0 last Thursday or Friday, truck sat for 24 hours inside and wasn't exposed to water for three days. Just for fun, I ran hose over truck just now(4-5 days after) and noticed the beading was nowhere near as well as my wifes car(UK about 6 months ago).

DID NOT apply reload after coating, as I was under impression the reload was used to protect UK if wet during first 24 hrs....

Wiped softly a small area(2 inches by 2 inches) and immediately, by removing the water spots, the paint beaded like it should(no water remained behind)

Now im wondering if I should still wait the 7 days for cure time before wash/then reload, or just wash it ASAP to prevent serious water spotting.....

Spent about a day and a half on the truck and feel sick to my stomach right now

here's a crappy photo.

You'll see an area with no spots, that is the spot I gently wiped.

Above and below the area is what the entire truck looks like.

I am certain, if I was able to wipe the truck down, the spots would be removed---but worried about doing so before 7 days cure. Maybe there's no need to rush washing/removing the spots?

Did you just let the water sit on the surface and it dried? Or did you try to dry the surface at all? Either way if you have Ech20 or Elixir try that.

thanks for the reply.

After rain this week, Ive not touched the truck. I was under impression no touching for first 7 days. So yes, rain has dried on paint. Thats not OK?

Try giving one of the two products a try to see if it removes them. Ech20 at 1:20 makes a good quick detailer. Elixir QD will leave protection behind.

two things

Just to be clear, the water spots don't seem permanent, from the small area I tested, just didn't want to wash truck and harm curing process.

BUT

Spoke with Corey @ CarPro this morning and he said it is more than likely ok to wash with reset. Ill also be putting reload on top after wash. Hope it will help reduce spotting and if anything help remove water spots as I dry

Will post results later if anyone finds themselves in a similar situation and finds this thread

OK so washed the truck with Reset yesterday, some areas, especially chrome had some pretty bad water spot stains, the paint wasn't as bad, and the windows were really tough.

Dried the truck using reload and got most of it out. Now I see a ton of high spots... so will be waiting another week, hitting those areas with essence, then one coat those areas with some overlap

Are the high dots from the coating or from Reload. Reload can streak if too much product is used.

For sure from CQ. I put three maybe four coats, it was a complete blur to be honest, when I finished final coat I was delirious. The side of truck with high spots was one with semi poor lighting when I started at night. I am just going to polish with essence and recoat those areas.

Not the end of the world as it seems you can spot repair the coating, polish, then a recount, the. reload. Just sucks that I’ll be removing most of the three or four coats from before
