Front Cover What For?

Actually, it is not hard plastic. It is soft vinyl fabric.
This is really Old Skool rock chip protection.

It has many drawbacks...
It causes scratches when dirt gets between the bra and the paint.
If it gets wet you must remove it right away so it does not "stain" the paint.
It must be completely dry before you can put it back on your car.
It's not pretty and they are usually semi-difficulty to put on a take-off.

However, if you drive on a gravel road or roads with lots of rocks it may be a good option.

IMHO if you have rock chip concerns, Paint Protection Film (PPF) is a better way to go.
 
I also found an elastic cover in my garage! Question: What is it for? I initially thought furniture, but it was too small. Answer: It turned out to be for my car's side mirror! Keeps off dust and grime when parked outside.

An elastic cover in my garage! Question: What could this strange thing be for? I guessed a plant pot, but no luck. Answer: Turns out it's a protective cover for my bike helmet! Keeps it clean between rides. Have you ever seen something odd and then discovered its purpose? It's always surprising when you learn what it is.
