Hi All,

Just dropping in to say Hi to everyone. I have been using various Car Pro products but will be taking the next big step soon. My friend and I will be aplying CQuartz to his wife's new car soon. I do have experience with coatings, although this will be my first CQuartz coating and Thanks to Corey for getting back to me fast on a question I had.

Glad to meet you all and seeing that college football has begun...War Eagle!

Hi Steve, welcome to CPF!!

Are you applying Cquartz "Original" (for the first time)? If so; be sure to wait at least 30-45 minutes before wiping it off!!! It should wipe off absolutely effortlessly! I apply it to the entire vehicle, then ensure it's been at least 45 minutes since I started to apply it to the first panel. I then go back to the first panel I applied it to and start wiping it off, working my way around the vehicle in the order of application. If it is at all grabby when wiping it off, your trying to wipe it off to soon!!! Also I prefer to use the 16"x16" CarPro suedes http://www.carpro-us.com/suede-micro...16x16-10-pack/ for removal. I toss them out after use, as the SiO2 can scratch after fully curing to the towel. Some folks toss them immediately into a bucket of APC after use to avoid glass crystals forming on them. I don't want to take any chances myself.

If you are going to be using CQUK, then the method for application/removal is totally different!

Please feel free to PM me if you have any questions or concerns.

Hi Guys!

Tad,

Yes it is the original and my first time with CQuartz. Thank you for the guidance. If I may...I have the new version of Reload and what do you think about applying it one hour after the CQ sets up and I follow the proper procedures?

I actually have those 16x16's already...LOL! I was going to toss them also...I like your train of thought.

Steve, you can apply Reload as soon as 1 hour after the removal of CQ. However I "personally" like to wait longer. If it's a vehicle that has no chance of seeing rain for a few days I'll wait to apply it. However, if there is a chance for the vehicle to see rain, then I'll apply the Reload just before releasing it.

Tad,

After further info, he received the UK edition even though it was suppose to be the original.

Hi Steve, Welcome to CPF!! Glad to see you here! Question: Did you purchase the CQ from CarPro-US.com or elsewhere? If it was from me of course we will take care of any mistake we make IMMEDIATELY! If from another store best to contact them as far as that goes.

Hi Corey,

My friend bought it elsewhere but I'm wondering if he isn't better off with the uk version. I know the application is different between the two. We live in Jersey with lots of that 4 letter word...snow...lol!
I did watch your video on You Tube with the uk.
Btw...I did order from Car Pro today for some much need bulk items.
Thanks again Corey.

Hi Steve, I would agree that assuming you are happy with application method of wiping off as you go then UK is the superior version! I would stick with it. That video (listen to the verbal tips also) is great! Only one note to add... You can and often should wipe off much faster then I did in the video. Cool thing is you don't have to wait for a flash with UK! You can just wipe right back off. So, the point is to remove before it starts feeling sticky and then its easy.

Thank you!!
