Merlin's Majic Elixer - The secret formula revealed!

Years ago I learned about a "Majic" combination of a couple of Carpro products from a very wise alchemist.
It has become known as "Merlin's Majic Elixer". I will now reveal the secret "Majic Elixer" formula on the forum.

The BASIC formula:
In my case, I use 50ml/1.7oz of Reload and 50ml/1.7oz of ECH2o in a CarPro 500ml Empty Spray Bottle

Carpro-Spray-Bottle_sm.jpg

I fill the rest of the bottle with distilled water (I love concentrated products. I hate paying to ship water)

The Chemistry...

ECH2o:
Waterless Wash, High Gloss Detail Spray, Rinse-less Wash based on a SiO2, EcH2o safely cleans and glosses a variety of exterior surfaces with ease!

Reload:
Reload packs the glass-like gloss, hydrophobicity, and dirt repellency of Silica Nanotechnology in a convenient spray-on, wipe-off sealant.

Combined Together...

It is now available as a bundle Gloss Lovers Kit* that includes 2 Microfiber Madness Crazy Piles 16" x 16" and a Microfiber Madness Slogger towel.

The Gloss Lovers Kit* includes "the amazing high gloss CarPro Reload nano sealant, CarPro Ech2o Waterless Wash & Quick Detailer,
as well as critically acclaimed Microfiber Madness Crazy Pile towels and a Microfiber Madness Slogger for application of Reload!"

These can be used separately or combined using the "Merlin's Majic Elixer" formula above for a handy high gloss QD and sealant in one.

Folks that I have detailed their vehicle(s) always ask the question "How do I maintain the finish when I'm on the road?"
So I supply them with a premade bottle of "Merlin's Majic Elixer" and a towel to keep in the car for those "moments" they need a touch-up.

Thank you , Mike. I have shared this magical mixture of great products on the Tundra forum I belong to. It is a huge hit!

Great post. Lots of good information. It's gone viral on video as well on Pan The Organizer's channel.

It is interesting that Hydro is in the mix. I am curious how that works considering Hydro is water activated. Perhaps as a drying aid?

The mix is nearly daily/weekly. Reload as a stand alone, depends on the situation but I can say nowhere near as much as the mix. Maybe every 3-6 months?

How often are you guys using the Elixir mix in conjunction with applying Reload by itself for maintenance? Hope the question makes sense.

I have not used this mix nor do I use reload. I prefer to see the performance of the actual base layer coating. In my case CQUK 3.0 topped with Gliss. I only use EcH20 as a drying aid as a topper. I may test out one of these mixtures.

A while back I (and a few others) had difficulty with Reload streaking and being a bit difficult/problematic to use.
Since then (I believe) they tweaked the formula to not be as finicky or streaky. It is a much better product now.

What I like about the "Merlin's Majic Elixer" is that Reload and ECH2o are both weter based and play well together.
Also, the concentration of Reload is not 100% and the finicky/streaking does not appear to exist with this formula.

I give a bottle of this to each client that I detail their car and they are able to spray and wipe with no challenges.

I have used the Majic Elixir since it was first announced here by Merlin with great success. Never have I encountered any streaking and its longevity is quite good.

Kudos to the wizard that created this formula.

You convinced me to try it out. My brother is coming by this afternoon for a maintenance wash and I have two solutions mixed up.

Ech2o + Reload for the paint and Ech2o + Reload + Hydro2 for the wheels. Will post my thoughts on both after using them.

Hey guys - how’s the dust resistance of the famed elixir? I drive dirt roads everyday and the dust attraction to the cars painted surface is outa control. It’s almost like static...

Well? What are your thoughts?

Well I let my brother give the Ech20/Reload mix a go and let him apply it. He seemed to have no issues and said it felt slick. Although from what I felt with the towel not a significant difference compared to Ech20 by itself in terms of slickness. The paint is silver so I could not tell if it streaked or not. Hard to tell if the gloss was increased as the paint has recently been polished and coated so it looks glossy after a wash.

I used the Ech20/Reload/Hydro2 mix as a drying on the wheels while he worked on the paint. I did notice that this mixture had a tendency to be streaky and required a second towel to buff off any excess.

On the glass I stuck with good old Ech20 as that works well with the coating and I don't want to introduce wiper chatter with say Reload.

Yesterday I decided to tweak Merlins Magic Elixer from 2oz Ech02 to 4oz and I have to say that it provides more gloss and is not streaky. Simply perfect!

Version 2 kicks up the gloss and doesn't leave streaks.
This kicks up up the Reload properties & keeps it friendly.

Whats the latest mix here that folks are using. Seems to be a lot of possibilities but I want to try it and curious which mix folks think work bed AND whether or not adding HYDRO2 is still being done.

I have mixed 2oz ech2o, 2oz reload, 2oz HydrO2 and 26oz distilled water. Had no issues in cooler temps on dark charcoal metallic paint. Warmer temps on the new gloss black ride has been finicky.

Had washed with gyeon bathe+ and week later used 303 touchless sealant. It could be to much at once so I will try again in a few weeks.

I did use about 10 oz of the mixture and then added 10 more oz of distilled water in. Will probably help some in the finicky department. So if your real good at math you can tell me how much of each is in there plus water. I’m not to concerned as it’s an experiment.

To add to the post above. After a pressure wash today I wiped down with the Merlin elixir version 3. Worked good. Here is the after product and a few Merlin shots as you call them.
