Mini Review... CarPro MF pad(s)

Corey,

I think you hit a home run with these pads... I honestly can't believe how good they are! Didn't know what to really expect with the length of the Micro Fiber fibers.

To the point because I don't have time to elaborate as much as I would like (and who would want to hear it anyway, lol!)

Cut is very good... on par with Meg's cutting disk, if anything- a tick less.

Feel- love the way the pads 'feel' on large stroke machines (Used on a Rupes 15 & 21.) I am a BIG 'feel' type of guy... some pads feel 'ok' and some feel 'great.' Best feeling MF pad I have used yet on a d/a and assume it is because of the composition of the foam backing. You know 'where you are/ the pad is' at all times even with the slightly larger overhang of the 5.5" pad with a 5" Rupes BP... (think edge work.)

Heat- for some reason these pads seem to generate less heat than others... although that is not statistically significant because this my 2nd time out with them. However, me like so far.

Pictures attached show solid black, medium- soft, black, aftermarket paint after M205 cutting phase, blow out pad, and then water spritz. Amazed at how it finished down for just a cutting step. (Followed with a foam pad and Reflect...And yes, there is some solvent pop and fish eyes in the paint along with rock chips. Rest assured, the engine jambs got attention too.)

Post billed as a mini review because I haven't tested their longevity.

Great job as usual, Corey!

Best,
-Gabe

I'm really happy with the buff and shine mf pads right now and still haven't had a chance to try these out. How do they compare to buff and shine if you have used them?

Pwp,

B&S pads are my least favorite... not by a radical much though. They tend to generate a lot of heat, even after one section and cut is a bit lacking when compared to other pads in their genre. They de laminate easily also so longevity is poor. Their thick foam backing is probably the main culprit.

Carpro MF pads simply "walk the dog" vs. B&S MF pads.

I have been using the buff and shine and did seem to notice some issues with heat and the pad kind of softening up after extended use causing it to almost fold up on my boss 21. I've used mostly meguiars and the buff and shine as for mf. I'll have to try getting my hands on the car pro ones to give them a try then.

Again, there is nothing wrong with B&S MF pads when compared to foam... obviously they will cut much harder, however, if we are comparing apples to apples... they are a bit lacking, IMHO. I think you will be pleasantly surprised by the CarPro MF pad performance.
