Muffler

My daughter has a 2004 Altima, the paint is not great but I have polished it and Hydro2ed it so it looks better than Okay except that I can see the muffler under the car and it sticks out like a sore thumb. It looks dirty and rusty and just not good in general, other than replacing the exhaust what do I do?

I suppose sandblasting is probably the only other option if its trashed. Maybe one of those spray on rust converters followed by extreme high temp paint... Not sure if anyone has tried that. I feel like Dark Horse has taken on a project like this before but maybe my memory deceives me.

I was hoping there was some detailer trick.... I'm sure you guys here know what I'm talking about when I say things that never bothered me be4 drive me nuts now, the rest of her car looks pretty good from 6'. Now every time I pull in the drive it makes me shake my head at how bad the muffler looks. It does not need to look new just better than it does.
