Rupes mk 2 & griots boss real time videos

There is just one thing in the world that drives me insane when it comes to purchasing tools. And that is not being able to hold it in my hands and see it in action to justify the cost. I am not cheap, but I also want to spend my purchasing dollars wisely. With that being said, there are no pro detailers in my area for me to visit to watch one in action. So this is where you guys come in. The Pro's. The guys that make all of this look easy but what you are really doing is teaching every single one of us to be as professional as it can get.
Now what I would like to see is a video of these machines in action in how you use them in your every day routine. Nothing pretty, nothing rehearsed. No taped 50/50 money shots either. You can save all of the high dollar production values and editing for those "New York based videos". Throw a camera in the corner and just let it rip. I am dying to get one of these machines and I want to see for myself if they are really all they are hyped up to be. The car's are not important in this either. If you happen to be working on an exotic or a daily beater, I don't care. I want to see a pro using the tools. So, do you think you can help a brother out?

That was very cool Don. Thanks for doing that. Okay, so that's 1 for Griots and 0 for Rupes. Keep em coming guys.

what exactly are you trying to see? i will be on the g21 again tomorrow. i can get better views if you need.

love the grips on my g21, makes it comfortable to hold and put pressure down at the same time.

I am wanting to see it actually being used and not for the just the perfect money shot promo videos. I'm looking to see how it handles with a user. Signs on ergonomics and angles of attack and technique. Thanks for your video again Don.

I'll throw my 2 cents in.
The Rupes 21 is my go-to machine! Period.
I do not have a Griots BOSS. I do have a GG 6"
I just did a Tesla Model S. it was 6 days old.
I used the Rupes 21 with a 5" backing plate.
I did the small areas with a gg 6" a 3" BP and 3" mf discs.

THAT is flawless work Merlin. Very impressive.

Thank you.

From what I learned...The Rupes 21 is built with much better quality parts than the BOSS.
PM me if you would like more info on what I have learned.
I need a second 21. I'm buying another Rupes.

Go 21 mk2!! Have had the opportunity recently to use a boss 21 beside my Rupes mk2 and felt that both correct similar and will loose pad rotation in certain types of curves, as all free spinning machines will. My MK 2 just feels smoother. Maybe a bias due to previous Rupes machine but feel like they may be a little better built.

I recently had the opportunity to try out the FLEX XFE7-15.
I also tried the Rupes 15 MKII. I purchased the 15 MKII.

Are you sure this isn't photo shopped? J/k That is absolutely unbelievably amazing! Awesome job!

I'll try to get some video this weekend off my boss 21 for you. I haven't had the chance to use the equivalent rupes polisher. The fit in my hand and warranty and the fact that I really liked my GG6 quality lead me to get the BOSS 21. My tool list in order of purchase went GG6 then my second machine was a flex 3401 then I got the rupes lhr75 and a flex pe14 at the same time and then the boss 21 last. I find myself going at the boss 21 and the rupes for most jobs. If the car is super curvy I'll have the 3401 on my cart also with a pad ready to hit trouble spots where I just can't keep the 21 spinning.

I have the G21, and tried the Rupe 21 MK2 with BOSS Microfiber Pad.
To me, G21 is more comfortable to hold. And it smoother with Boss pad of coz (But is not fair to test with boss pad on Rupe 21 MK2)
But Rupe 21 has slow start function which some people prefer it.
You cant go wrong with either one.
