DIY LED Work Light

Late to this thread, but I followed Zach's build on another site, and finally did my build last spring. The lights are great, but be careful what you wish for!

Thanks again Zach!

What did you mean by be careful what you wish for?

With the LED lights (I have the 5000K bulbs) you can see all the defects, but you can see ALL the defects.

I was correcting some headlights, and the LED's were nice as I could place them right beside the light while I worked. When I finished sanding I could still see a few of the 1500 & 2000 grit marks in the lens. I went back over the light again with those 2 grits, and then polished them. If I was doing that work in natural light, I would have never seen the marks!

After 2 years, I'm sure there are better LED options available. Please let me know if anyone else has new LED light recommendations.

You can find other options, Scangrip co es to mind, but I still use Zach’s set up and find it incredibly helpful.

I meant to ask only for the LED bulb. I'm planning to use Zach's recommendation.

Aahhhhh...that sheds light on it. I have found some new LEDs on Amazon that are super bright for yard use. I may try an experiment next time out.

This is a great write up! I actually just finished making my own light set up kind of like yours yesterday. 4 of the same par38 bulbs that you used.

This is a great, and I might need to make one myself in the next couple weeks.
